Pet Odor Mitigation
We all love our pets, but sometimes they make mistakes. Pet Urine is considered by professionals to be one of the most difficult problems to solve in the carpet cleaning industry. Here is the reason why. The liquid passes through the carpet fibers into the matting and often through the padding resting on the sub floor. As the liquid evaporates, small yellow crystals begain to form deep beneath the carpet surface. These salt looking crystals remain deep in the carpet base and began to give off a horrible odor. All of the normal carpet cleaning in the world won’t touch the problem because the crystals are too deep into the carpet base and padding.
Urine can also cause permanent color damage, either adding color by dyeing the carpet fibers or removing color by releasing the carpet’s dye. Inevitably the teck will have to deal with a large amount of secondary residue because the homeowner was understandably attempting to handle the issue by using products that are not designed to deal with pet urine. The product was used on the spot and left in the carpet becoming a second type of residue that will draw other soils which will lead to a much larger spot in a short amount of time.
